Sergey Nuyanzin

Sergey Nuyanzin is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the field, currently working at Confluent since May 2024. Sergey has held significant roles at The Apache Software Foundation since July 2018, including Apache Calcite PMC member, Apache Flink Committer, and Apache Calcite Committer. Previous positions include Staff Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Aiven, Full Stack Developer/Engineer at METRO.digital, and Full Stack Developer/Engineer at METRONOM GmbH. Sergey also served as Lead Software Engineer at EPAM Systems, focusing on big data using the Spark/Flink/Calcite stack, and worked as Architect/Senior Software Engineer at Netcracker, where responsibilities included software solution development and architecture planning. Early career experiences include software development roles at Focus-Media, Sagem Orga Zelenograd, and ZAO NPO ELAK. Sergey earned a Master's degree from the National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) from 2002 to 2008.
