Franky van Herreweghe

Franky Van Herreweghe has extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, currently serving as Business Development Manager at Confo Therapeutics since March 2018. Previously, Franky held various roles at Phoreon - a Brand of Pharma Diagnostics NV from May 2011 to February 2018, including Business Developer, Team Leader in R&D, Senior Scientist, and Scientist, where the focus was on label-free screenings for biomolecular interactions using localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) based nanotechnology. Franky’s foundational experience includes multiple postdoctoral fellowships at VIB from 2000 to 2011, involving integration of experimental biology with systems biology, proteomics, and bioinformatics. Educational qualifications include multiple degrees from Ghent University, complemented by earlier studies at Avans University of Applied Sciences and Katholieke Hogeschool 'Sint-Lieven'.
