Jim Tranquada

Jim Tranquada joined the board in 2017. He serves as co-chair of the Strategic Planning/futures Committee. A native of Los Angeles, Jim earned a B.A. in history from Stanford University. After working as a newspaper reporter, he embarked on a second career in public relations. Jim serves as the Director of Communications at Occidental College. He has served for 13 years as a board member of Solheim Lutheran Home in Los Angeles and is the co-author of The Ukulele: A History. He and his wife have one son. Jim is the son of Bob and Jan Tranquada, residents of Mt. San Antonio Gardens.
