Jonathan M. Cox, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. Jonathan M. is currently serving as the Vice President of the Center for Policy Analysis and Research at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida starting from July 2017. Jonathan M. completed their Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Maryland College Park, where they were a PhD student from August 2012 to May 2017. Earlier in their career, they were the Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs at Wake Forest University from August 2008 to July 2012. In this role, they focused on supporting students, particularly students of color, by coordinating mentoring programs, teaching courses, and providing leadership development opportunities.

Jonathan M. Cox, Ph.D., completed their education in a chronological order. Jonathan M. first attended Hampton University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education. Jonathan M. then pursued further education at Penn State University from 2006 to 2008, earning a Master's of Education degree in College Student Affairs. Finally, Jonathan completed their doctorate studies at the University of Maryland, from 2012 to 2017, resulting in the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Sociology.
