The Chief Units at the Congressional Budget Office are specialized teams led by experts responsible for providing in-depth analysis and cost estimates in their respective domains. Each unit supports the Congressional budget process by producing reports, projections, and models on specific areas such as income security, health policy, Medicare, budget projections, taxation, mandates, long-term economic analysis, energy, environment, macroeconomics, and natural/physical resources. Their objective, nonpartisan work ensures informed decision-making by providing transparency on assumptions and methodologies used.
