Chris Tessone

Chief Business Officer at Congressional Country Club

Chris Tessone is currently the Chief Business Officer at Congressional Country Club. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary for 50CAN: The 50-State Campaign for Achievement Now from April 2016 to May 2019. There, they were responsible for finance, operations, legal, and IT, as well as strategy/fundraising for small-scale campaigns. Chris also transformed national service delivery, diversified revenue, and launched new campaigns in three states. In addition, they co-led acquisitions of several mission-aligned nonprofits, including deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiation, and post-transfer integration of programs.

Before their work at 50CAN, Mr. Tessone served as the Chief Operating Officer for Maya Angelou Schools/See Forever Foundation from July 2012 to April 2016. There, they were responsible for a $18M annual operating budget, human resources, legal, federal grants management, IT, procurement, and management of 110,000+ square foot instructional facility.

Chris Tessone has a MBA in Corporate Finance and Decision Sciences from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business. They also have a BA in Russian and Mathematics (minor) from Knox College, and a Certificate in Russian Language and Culture from Kuban State University (KubSU). They also attended the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. Lastly, they have certification from Coursera in Sports Performance Analytics Specialization (Michigan), Decentralized Finance (DeFi): The Future of Finance Specialization (Duke), and Data Science Specialization (Johns Hopkins).
