VP, Development at Conifer Realty

Roger Piné joined Conifer in 2020 and currently serves on the Conifer Leadership Team as Vice President, Development for the Downstate New York region, including Long Island and Westchester. His responsibilities include overseeing the execution of the Conifer development pipeline from conception through stabilization. In addition, he plays an integral role in the acquisition and structuring of potential new developments within the region.

Roger has nearly 15 years of experience in the development of new construction in New York City and Westchester. He brings to Conifer extensive knowledge in building mid- and high-rise, mixed-use projects on urban in-fill sites, and an impressive ability to navigate the local approvals process. His experience and successful track record in working with municipalities, housing agencies, local elected officials, and non-profits proves instrumental in our efforts to successfully execute complex affordable housing developments.

Prior to joining Conifer, Roger worked at Urban Builders Collaborative (UBC)/Lettire Construction as Vice President of Acquisition and Development. He oversaw the construction of 1,500 affordable housing units and helped to build a pipeline totaling $750M in total development cost. Roger was closely involved in all aspects of the project at UBC/Lettire, including acquisition, pre-development, construction, and asset management. He also played an integral role in some of its most notable projects, including The Ciena and Hobbs Court, the nation’s first project under the Federal Tax Credit Assistant Program (TCAP); Tapestry, a 185-unit sustainable, multi-family mixed-use property located in the Harlem 125th Street corridor; and the Graham, a mixed-use mixed-income project consisting of 99 units and 15,000 SF of ground-floor retail in the South Bronx Lower Concourse.

Roger also has extensive experience in New York City residential, retail, and investment sales brokerage. At Georgia Malone & Company, an investment sales brokerage firm, he worked on a number of transactions and deals for owners and institutional investors, including a $500 million value-add, multi-family portfolio in Harlem.

Roger has an M.S. in Real Estate from New York University with a concentration in Real Estate Development and a dual B.S. in Political Science and Spanish from Pepperdine University. He served on the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group and New York Housing Conference Rising Leaders Network, and is a member in New York State for Affordable Housing, Supportive Housing Network of New York, and Citizens Housing and Planning Council.
