Mathew Lobb has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Mathew started their career at Tony Roma's in 2001 as an Operating Partner, overseeing the operations of three casual dining restaurants. In 2006, they transitioned to Moxie's Classic Grill where they served as a Franchisee & Operations Manager, leading a team of 130 individuals and achieving sales exceeding $4 million per year.

In 2011, Lobb joined Alberta Pacific Forest Industries Inc. as a Power Engineer (CRU Operator), responsible for maintaining equipment in a Kraft Pulp Mill. Mathew operated power generating equipment, including boilers and steam turbines, and was involved in commissioning the first-ever kraft pulp mill methanol plant.

In 2013, Lobb joined Cenovus Energy as a Power Engineer, specializing in Thermal and Panel Operations. Mathew'sresponsibilities included striving to exceed production targets, ensuring safety, and mentoring personnel.

Lobb returned to Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd in 2016 as a 2nd Class Power Engineer before moving to Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. in 2020 for the same role. Currently, in 2021, Lobb is a 2nd class power engineer at Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd.

Mathew Lobb has a diverse education history. From 1997 to 2001, they attended the University of Manitoba and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. During this time, they studied Psychology, Sociology, and Commerce. In 2011, they attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) for a Power & Process Operations Certificate in Power Engineering, specializing in New 4th Class.

In 2012, Mathew pursued a Welding Inspector certification from the Canadian Welders Bureau. This certification allowed him to work as a CSA W178.2 Level 1 and ASME B31.3 certified inspector.

In addition to their formal education, Mathew has obtained several certifications. In March 2013, they acquired a Level 1 Welding Inspector certification from the CWB Group. And in February 2020, they obtained a 2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency from ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority.
