William Pan

Dr. Pan is a co-founder of Connect and has been serving as the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has over 25 years of experiences in biopharmaceutical R&D including 10 years in Europe and North America. Prior to co-founding Connect, Dr. Pan co-founded Crown Bioscience Inc., a US venture-backed US company with major operations in China (Beijing & Shanghai) providing CRO services to international biopharmaceutical companies. He has served at various executive leadership positions at the company, including China President, Chief Operation Officer, and Executive Vice President. While there, Dr. Pan made seminal contributions to the company's growth into a global leader in translational oncology drug development services. (The company went IPO in 2017 and was later acquired for $400 million by JSR of Japan.). Prior to Crown Bioscience, Dr. Pan was the Vice President at TsingHuaYuanXing Biopharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Shenzhen, China) after he returned to China as an entrepreneur in 2000. Between 2001 and 2006, he co-founded and served as Vice President and/or General Manager for two other biotech companies, where he played key roles for the development of several gene-based therapeutic biologics. He was involved in the development and successful marketing of several biomedical products. Dr. Pan obtained his Ph.D. in Biology in Sussex University (UK) and postdoctoral training at University of California at Berkeley. He holds an MBA from Tsing-Hua University.
