Martijn van der Leeuw has a diverse work experience in the finance and investments industry. Martijn is currently working as an Investment Manager at Connected Capital, starting from October 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Benelux at Gain.pro from June 2018 to October 2021. In January 2018, they briefly worked in Private Equity at Bridgepoint. Martijn also gained experience in Investment Banking at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., where they worked on sell-side deals for energy company Eneco and various technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) pitches from August 2017 to November 2017. Additionally, they worked in Venture Capital at VOCCP, focusing on growth investments in tech-enabled businesses, from March 2017 to July 2017. Before that, Martijn held roles at De Kleine Consultant as a Director from December 2016 to July 2017 and as a Consultant from August 2016 to November 2016. Martijn also founded Liquid Gold Investments as part of their involvement with B&R Beurs Erasmus Investment Society from August 2015 to July 2017. Martijn began their career in Investment Banking at Lindenaar & Co Corporate Finance from May 2016 to August 2016.
Martijn van der Leeuw completed their pre-university education (VWO) at Stanislas College Westplantsoen from 2006 to 2012. Martijn then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, from 2012 to 2015. During their undergraduate studies, they also participated in a semester abroad at Università Bocconi in 2014 and attended a summer school on Financial Markets at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2015.
After completing their bachelor's degree, Martijn continued their education at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Finance & Investments from 2015 to 2017. Subsequently, in 2018, they attended the Fintech Programme at the University of Oxford.
In addition to their formal education, Martijn van der Leeuw has acquired additional certifications. Martijn completed the Oxford Fintech Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, in June 2018. Martijn also obtained the Bloomberg Market Concepts certification from Bloomberg LP in January 2016.
