Matthew Lumsden

CEO at Connected Energy

With 15 years experience in the low carbon energy and transport sectors, Matthew founded Connected Energy to commercialise a range of energy storage and control systems developed by parent company Future Transport Systems. In the emerging energy storage sector, a key focus of Connected Energy is to provide customers with end to end expertise and support in developing their projects.

Matthew worked in the renewable energy sector from 2000 for 10 years as Business Development and Managing Director of energy consultancy TNEI where he also delivered a wide range of projects primarily focussing on the introduction of new clean technologies and business models including marine renewables, biomass systems, small scale/urban wind and electric vehicles. In so doing he realised that electric vehicles represented a potential risk to grid stability as well as a clean technology and environmental opportunity.

In 2009 he founded Future Transport Systems to provide specialist consultancy and project management in the field of electric-mobility with an emphasis on the relationship between electric vehicles and energy networks

In 2014 Matthew founded Connected Energy to provide energy storage systems and operating services.

Matthew has a 1st Class degree in Business Administration and spent his earlier career in sales and marketing in the construction industry.
