Wei Yang Tan

Wei Yang Tan has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Wei Yang started their career at Connected Freight in 2019 as a Software Engineer, where they focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions with a focus on AWS Serverless and TypeScript.

Prior to that, Wei worked at Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific as a Data Technology Developer from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they supported the daily operation of the Kylo data lake management platform, developed and maintained custom connectors on Apache NiFi, and automated data gathering from Excel reports using Power Query.

Before joining Dentsu Aegis Network, Wei worked at Far East Organization from 2015 to 2018. During their time there, they held multiple roles, including Data Management Lead, Application Solution Executive, and Information Security Executive. In these roles, they established a data management team, created an end-to-end cloud data platform, introduced the use of Tableau for data visualization, encouraged the adoption of new metrics for monitoring business performance, organized HSIA upgrades at various hotels, and enabled Single Sign-On for cloud applications.

Wei Yang Tan completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) from 2012 to 2015. They have also obtained several additional certifications, including Clean Architecture: Patterns, Practices, and Principles, Clean Code: Writing Code for Humans, Domain-Driven Design Fundamentals, Modern Software Architecture: Domain Models, CQRS, and Event Sourcing, Product Owner Fundamentals - Foundations of Product Ownership, Scrum Master Fundamentals - Foundations, Apache Spark Essential Training, TypeScript Essential Training, Introduction to Corporate Finance, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Marketing, and Introduction to Operations Management. They also obtained the AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2020.
