Jan Mark Hoekstra

Jan Mark Hoekstra has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jan Mark started their career at Hof Niekerk as a Medewerker, where they gained extensive experience working on a German organic farm. During their time there, they developed a strong understanding of German language and culture and gained the skills needed to efficiently manage the farm.

In 2014, Jan took on the role of an Assistent farm manager at ООО «СВЕТЛЫЙ ПУТЬ», where their main focus was the establishment of a 600-head dairy farm. Jan Mark tackled challenges related to calving, feeding, fertility, health, and labor, aiming to create a low-cost company.

Jan also worked at Dirksen Management Support as both an Allround medewerker and a Stagiair. Jan Mark gained valuable experience in various general tasks and supported the management in their daily operations.

In 2016, Jan joined ООО «СВЕТЛЫЙ ПУТЬ» again, this time as a Herdmanager. Jan Mark was responsible for overseeing the operations of the farm and ensuring the well-being of the herd.

Jan's passion for the food industry led him to work at Youth Food Movement as an Academicus Youth Food Movement. Jan Mark actively participated in the YFM Academie, an interactive educational program that aimed to enhance knowledge about the food system among young professionals and students in the hospitality, agriculture, and food sectors.

Currently, Jan is employed as a Farm Integration Specialist and Junior product manager at Connecterra.

Jan Mark Hoekstra attended Het Assink Lyceum in Haaksbergen from 2004 to 2009, where they earned their Higher General Secondary Education degree in the field of Natuur en Gezondheid. Following that, they enrolled at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences from 2011 to 2016 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Dier- en veehouderij.
