Karthik Munukutla

Karthik Munukutla is the Director of Transmission at ConnectGen. Karthik leads the Transmission and Market Analysis group, which is responsible for forecasting the transmission congestion, renewable curtailment, and basis risks for ConnectGen’s renewable generation portfolio.

Karthik brings over 15 years of experience in renewable policy, transmission planning, and energy and capacity markets to his role at ConnectGen. He has extensive experience reviewing the higher penetration of renewables on the transmission system and understanding the impacts on system reliability, renewable interconnection, energy, and capacity markets.

Prior to joining ConnectGen, Karthik worked on the policy planning and economic planning teams at Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and the transmission planning team at Entergy Services Inc. Karthik holds a master’s degree specializing in power systems from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Osmania University.
