Robert Schmitt

Associate Director, Marketing & Outreach at Connecticut Green Bank

Robert Schmitt has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Robert started their career as an Instructor at Mad Science of South Eastern Connecticut in 2006 and continued in that role until 2008. Robert then interned as an Education Intern at Mystic Aquarium in 2008, where they taught various programs and led tours. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Gallery Scientist at the Connecticut Science Center, where they designed programs and managed the LEGO Imagination Zone.

In 2011, Robert joined CREC as an Energy Specialist, where they educated children and adults on energy efficiency and provided general support for the SmartLiving Center. Robert then transitioned to Fairfield University in 2021 as an Adjunct Instructor, where they currently teach.

Robert's most recent and longest work experience is with CT Green Bank. Robert started as an Associate, Marketing & Outreach in 2012 and has since held various roles of increasing seniority, including Senior Associate, Associate Manager, Manager, Senior Manager, and currently, Associate Director, Marketing & Outreach. Robert'sresponsibilities in these roles include managing marketing campaigns, coordinating outreach events, and leading a team in achieving marketing objectives.

Robert Schmitt completed their undergraduate education at Central Connecticut State University from 2005 to 2009, where they received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Interpretation. Robert then pursued further studies at West Virginia University from 2013 to 2014, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. Robert subsequently attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2017 to 2020, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
