Alison Malloy

Managing Director, Investments at Connecticut Innovations

As Director of Investments at CI, Alison is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, structuring investments and accelerating portfolio companies through active board participation. Since joining CI in 2017, Alison has led investments in Aberdeen–Big Willow, Voiceitt, Invixium, Fresh Nation, Lifestyle CX, Sea Green Farms, Shop Tomorrows and Assessment Innovations. Alison has a strong background in financial management, sales, strategy and capital raising. She serves as a regular speaker, judge and member at several entrepreneur organizations, including Golden Seeds, Angel Investor Forum, Ladies Who Lead, The Refinery and Springboard Enterprises.

Alison contributes to CI’s expertise in tech with more than 20 years in the industry. Alison was the CEO and co-founder of Design2Launch (D2L), a leading Connecticut-based tech startup in workflow collaboration for the pharma industry, which she helped sell twice. After D2L was initially acquired by Eastman Kodak Company in 2008, Alison later worked on the spinout and merger with BLUE Software in 2016, where she served on the board of directors and supported the successful exit for the second time to Danaher in 2018. Alison started her investing career at the Slovak American Enterprise Fund in Slovakia. She was the managing director and partner at Trimodia LLC, where she invested in companies such as Centrallo, Quigler, Interactio, Wild Things, Baskins, Blinked LLC and North Basin. She worked for General Electric around the world, graduating from GE Capital’s prestigious financial management program. She was the chief financial officer of the NBC Retail Experience Store in NYC, and integrated the acquisition of the Mexican bank Banco Alianza with GE Capital Mexico. Alison was trained in process reengineering through GE’s Six Sigma program, and led a management consulting practice for Arthur Andersen Management Consulting.

Alison graduated from Boston College. A dual citizen and an avid racer of sailboats, she lives in Stamford with her husband and two children.
