Nilda Rodriguez Havrilla serves as the Litigation and Advocacy Director at Connecticut Legal Services since May 2004, where Nilda has held various roles including Managing Attorney of the Housing Unit and Staff Attorney. In this capacity, Nilda provides representation and guidance to low-income clients facing issues such as evictions, illegal lockouts, and housing subsidies. Prior to this, Nilda worked as an Attorney at Massachusetts Advocates for Children from September 2003 to April 2004, focusing on special education matters and outreach to families impacted by domestic violence. Nilda earned a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law and a BA in Political Science from Trinity College-Hartford.

Our mission is to provide access to justice and protect the critical civil legal rights of low-income individuals and families through representation, systemic advocacy, advice, collaboration, and education. We serve low-income families in 122 of the 169 Connecticut communities (our sister agencies serve areas of greater Hartford and greater New Haven). Our service area includes hundreds of thousands of families eligible for our services. We protect and secure critical civil legal rights for our clients and advance access to justice for all Connecticut residents.
