Alecia Zimmerman

Alecia Zimmerman is an experienced educator with a strong background in special education and online teaching. Currently serving as a Special Education Teacher at Connections Academy since February 2019, Alecia oversees compliance with student IEPs and manages the Child Find process. Previously, Alecia worked as an Online ESL Teacher at VIPKID and held various teaching and leadership roles in Hillsborough County Public Schools from August 2008 to February 2019, including Fourth Grade Teacher, District Professional Development Trainer, New Teacher Mentor, and Team Leader of the Fifth Grade Team. Alecia began teaching in Duval County Public Schools from August 2001 to August 2008. Alecia holds a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Scranton and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Florida International University.
