John Mahlstedt

John Mahlstedt has over 17 years of experience in internal audit and financial management. John began their career in 2002 as a Staff/Senior Internal Auditor at Sears, where they were promoted to Internal Audit Manager after 12 months. In 2012, they joined Sears Holdings Corporation as an Inventory Manager and Project Manager/Retail Operations - Home Appliances. In 2017, they moved to Discover Financial Services as an Internal Audit Specialist, and in 2019 they became an Internal Audit Consultant - Project Manager/Director at Connect Search, LLC, as well as an Internal Audit Executive at the State Department of Revenue - Connect Search, LLC. In these roles, they have been responsible for financial planning, assortment planning, and merchandise allocation, as well as overseeing risk assessment processes and managing teams to create risk-based end-to-end process reviews.

John Mahlstedt obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing from Stockton University between 1985 and 1990. John then obtained the Certified Internal Auditor certification from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in January 2004. In January 2008, they obtained the Certified Fraud Examiner certification from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Finally, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor certification from ISACA in May 2018.
