Conner Prairie
Leonard Hoops has served as President & CEO of Visit Indy since 2011. He leads a team of 65 industry professionals charged with growing Central Indiana's economy by driving the region's $5.4 billion conventions, tourism, and event industry. Leonard serves on the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Board of Directors and Destinations International Foundation's Board of Trustees. In Indy, Hoops serves on the Capital Improvement Board of Marion County as well as the Boards of the Indy Chamber, Downtown Indy, and the Indiana Sports Corp. He has been named one of the “25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry” by Successful Meetings magazine. Leonard earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from San Jose State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He and his wife, Dorene, have two children.

Spanning more than 1,000 wooded acres in central Indiana, Conner Prairie welcomes nearly 400,000 visitors of all ages annually. As Indiana’s first Smithsonian Institute affiliate, the museum, located in Fishers, Ind., offers nine outdoor, historically themed destinations and three indoor experiential learning spaces that combine history and art with science, technology, engineering and math to offer an authentic look into history that shapes society today.
