Terry Bonini has a diverse work experience in various industries. From 1989 to 1996, they worked as a Senior Staff Accountant at BUDWITZ & MEYERJACK, P.C., gaining experience in audits, reviews, and compilations of different organizations. They also prepared individual tax returns. From 1996 to 1998, Bonini served as an Assistant Controller at Farmington Displays, Inc., focusing on revitalizing an acquired company. From 1998 to 2000, they worked at Konover & Associates, Inc. as a Senior Corporate Accountant, doing corporate accounting and financial reporting for shopping centers. In 2000, they became the Corporate Controller, responsible for financial accounting and reporting at the same company. From 2001 to 2002, Bonini worked at the American Red Cross as an Operations Manager, supervising accounting functions and working on budget monitoring. Since 2002, Bonini has been at Conning, starting as an AVP in Corporate Finance and being promoted to Vice President in 2012. In this role, they worked on M&A acquisitions, performed specialty projects, and provided finance/accounting expertise.

Terry Bonini earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Mitchell College in the years 1983 to 1985. Subsequently, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University from 1986 to 1988.
