Brett was drawn to the CCMI mission from his long involvement in environmental protection and on-the-ground protection. After obtaining his Undergraduate in Forest Ecology, Brett spent three years in Central America in the Peace Corps, working on soil conservation and reforestation, and learned a lot from those who live in close connection to the land. During that international work, Brett also becomes acutely aware of the need to better manage their scarce water resources, for human health and the environment. Upon return, he obtained a Masters in Water Resources Engineering from the Univ. of Wisconsin and settled in Minnesota working on Engineering planning and design projects. After several years at an engineering firm, he realized that a more integrated approach was needed, and co-founded EOR, as an interdisciplinary company, with water management as a core theme. In more recent times, he is focusing on green infrastructure, sustainability, and creating innovative solutions, both regionally in the US, as well as Canada. He also learned invaluable lessons from experience as an elected official, a city council member. He brings the business knowledge from starting up a company, along with a passion for the environment. His free time continues to be focused on outdoor activities, summer, and winter, along with community work.
