Julie Raasteen

Manager, Proposal Development, Global Public Partnerships at Conservation International

Julie Raasteen is an experienced professional in nature conservation and environmental peacemaking, currently serving as Manager of Proposal Development for Global Public Partnerships at Conservation International since February 2023. Previously, Julie headed the Climate & Environmental Peacemaking Programme at the European Institute of Peace, successfully raising EUR 1.5 million for projects in Somalia, Yemen, and the Liptako Gourma region of West Africa while managing related initiatives. Additional roles include Project Manager on climate change and migration at RIKO, and contributions to the Network for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding. Julie began the career in peacebuilding as an intern with Sembrandopaz. Academic qualifications include an MSc in International Security and Law from the University of Southern Denmark, along with exchange studies in International Law and Politics at the University of Glasgow and a degree in History from the University of Copenhagen.
