Kayla van Aken

Kayla Van Aken has a diverse work experience history. Kayla recently joined Consigli Construction Co., Inc. as a Project Engineer in September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at The Home Depot as a Customer Service Associate from September 2020 to May 2021. Kayla also has experience in the production and construction industry. Kayla served as an Apprentice at Production Resource Group from December 2018 to January 2020, where they gained exposure to various trades. Kayla also had internships at Consigli Construction Co., Inc. as a Project Management Intern from May 2019 to November 2019, and at Production Resource Group (PRG) Scenic Technologies as a Rotational Intern from May 2018 to August 2018. Additionally, Kayla worked as a Stage Manager at Kingston City School District from September 2014 to August 2017, and as an Intern at BBL Construction Services in July 2016. Throughout their work experience, they have developed a strong understanding of the construction industry and has shown a desire to pursue further education in business to enhance their knowledge in the field.

Kayla Van Aken completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction Technology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2017 to 2020. Kayla then pursued their Master of Science degree in Business and Analytics at the Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst, from 2020 to 2021.

In addition to their academic degrees, Kayla obtained various certifications. In September 2021, they received certifications in "Building Professional Relationships," "Communicating Nonverbally," "Construction Management: Reading Civil Construction Drawings," "Construction Management: Technology on the Jobsite," "Decision-Making in High-Stress Situations," "How to Be Both Assertive and Likable," "Improving Your Listening Skills," "Procore Certified: Field Worker," "Procore Certified: Project Manager (Core Tools)," "Procore Certified: Project Manager (Project Management)," and "Procore Certified: Project Manager (Quality & Safety)." Kayla also obtained certifications in "Project Management Tips" and "The Key to Good Communication: Your Audience" in September 2021.

Prior to their academic pursuits, Kayla completed the OSHA 10 Training NY, obtaining the certification in June 2016.
