Henry Burke

General Manager North at Consolidated Pastoral Company

Henry started his career in the cattle industry in 1973 in the Queensland Gulf country.

Henry has recently completed 37 years of service with AACo.

During this time Henry worked his way up the ranks through all aspects of station life, from a Jackaroo to Headstockman, Assistant Manager, Manager, Senior Manager, Regional Manager, then onto his final role as the General Manager of Pastoral Operations.

Henry has had extensive experience in large scale property management across Northern Australia and his employment has seen him work on Crowfels, Wurung, Wondoola, Canobie, Headingly, Gregory Downs, Wrotham Park all located in Queensland and Walhallow and Brunette Downs NT.

As General Manager of Pastoral Operations, Henry had oversight of 19 cattle stations across Queensland, NT and WA, consisting of 240 staff and 450,000 head of cattle.

Henry has broad experience in property acquisitions, property dispersals, indigenous engagement and large scale pastoral operations and has previously spent 10 years on the NTCA board as a member of the Barkly Branch. Henry was one of the founding directors of the training organization RITE for two years and was involved in the initial writing and implementation of the training curriculum for Level’s 1 to 3 in the Beef Cattle Production. He was also involved in writing the First OH&S safety guidelines for the Beef Cattle Industry.

Henry holds a Diploma of Management.

Henry believes the key components for the critical success factors are – “a clear road map for all to follow, good people, clear rewards for work well done.” He is passionate about the beef industry and the people who work in it.
