Mark Dorsey, FASAE, CAE has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mark has held leadership positions in various organizations, displaying a strong track record of success and exceeding growth objectives.

In their most recent role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Construction Specifications Institute since September 2015, Mark galvanized board and membership support for the organization's mission and vision. Mark prioritized strategy implementation while remaining attentive to the needs of members and the association's goals.

Simultaneously, Mark served as a board member and owner representative at BSD SpecLink, starting in September 2015 and ending in June 2019. Prior to these positions, Mark served as the CEO of the PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors from July 2006 to July 2015. In this capacity, they guided the world's largest organization dedicated to skiing and snowboarding, exceeding growth and budget objectives while undergoing radical transitions. Mark prioritized revenue growth, budget administration, credentialing and professional development, chapter relations, and operational alignment. Under their leadership, the organization experienced increased annual revenue, product innovations, and record membership.

Mark also held roles at the National Ski Patrol from 1989 to 2006, serving as Interim Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Marketing Director. As Interim Executive Director from January 2006 to June 2006, they fostered harmony and collaboration within the organization while identifying programs and partnerships for continued growth. In their role as Chief Operating Officer, Mark directed the Communications Department, Marketing Department, and Education Department, as well as outside vendors, contributing to the leading authority on-mountain safety. Mark also served as the Marketing Director during this time.

From 1989 to 2006, Mark held multiple positions at the PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors, including Chief Operating Officer and Marketing Director. As Chief Operating Officer, Mark directed the Communications Department, Marketing Department, and retail sales, managing a multimillion-dollar budget. Mark also played a key role in identifying, developing, and implementing resources and processes to support strategic planning.

At the Medical Education Collaborative (MEC), Mark served as the Interim Executive Director from February 2002 to August 2002. Mark successfully led and turned around the medical credentialing organization, developing a business plan, proposing budget and business strategies, and achieving positive cash flow and operating profit.

Mark's earlier career includes roles as an Alpine Ski Instructor and Staff Trainer at Summit at Snoqualmie from 1988 to 1999, Sales Manager/Account Executive at KBRD-FM/KTAC-AM in 1988 to 1989, Alpine Ski Instructor and Staff Trainer (Part-Time) at Alyeska Resort & The Hotel Alyeska from 1983 to 1988, and Market Research Officer at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union in 1985 to 1986.

Mark Dorsey, FASAE, CAE has a comprehensive education history. Mark obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Lewis & Clark College between 1979 and 1983. Following that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Colorado Denver from 1998 to 2002.

In addition to their educational background, Mark Dorsey has acquired several certifications. Mark obtained a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University in February 2022. In 1988, they achieved the Alpine Level III Ski Instructor certification from PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors. Further, they hold the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation conferred by ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, which they obtained in June 2003. Lastly, they have a First Degree Blackbelt in Taekwondo from Kukkiwon, although the month and year of obtaining this certification are unspecified.
