Simon Scott-Taylor has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Simon started their career as a Studio Co-ordinator at Sampson / Tyrell Ltd in 1982, where they were involved in designing, estimating, supervising print, and commissioning artwork. Simon then worked as a Production Manager at FITCH & COMPANY PLC from 1984 to 1986, co-ordinating a team to provide production services to meet client expectations. Simon then joined Saunders Design as a Graphics Director from 1986 to 1987, where they were responsible for proposals, design direction, client presentations, and implementation supervision. Simon continued their career as a Retail Graphics Director at McColl Design from 1987 to 1990, leading teams to provide graphic proposals and design solutions on various projects. After this, Simon worked as a Creative Director at Consultants in Design from 1990 to 1993, running a small independent design and advertising consultancy while also teaching part-time. Simon then joined Allen International as a Creative Director Graphics from 1993 to 1998, where they were involved in fee proposals, creative direction of graphic projects, and client liaison. Simon also worked at Lewis & Hickey as a Retail Consultant from 2002 to 2006. Currently, they are the Managing Director of Consultants In Design, a position they have been holding since 1998.

Simon Scott-Taylor has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Brighton, which they obtained from 1979 to 1981. Prior to that, they completed a Foundation Course in Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Fine Art at Bath Lane Newcastle from 1977 to 1978.
