Adam Rust

Adam Rust currently serves as the Director of Financial Services at the Consumer Federation of America since October 2023. Prior to this, Adam held the position of Senior Policy Advisor at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition from May 2020 to October 2023, and served as a Board Member for the U.S. Faster Payments Council from May 2019 to May 2020, contributing to universal faster payments initiatives. Adam's extensive experience also includes roles as Research Director at Reinvestment Partners and Managing Director at WiseWage, focusing on financial accessibility for unbanked workers. Adam's early career involved various positions in journalism, including serving as a Photo Editor at the Chicago Tribune and staff photographer roles at Birmingham Post-Herald and Morgantown Dominion-Post. Academically, Adam holds a Master's Degree in Finance from Indiana University, a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, a Master's in Journalism from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor's degree in History from The George Washington University.
