Steve Owens' work experience includes various leadership roles in the banking and finance industry. Steve began their career at National City Bank in 1994, where they held the position of Vice President, Business Banking Officer, and Retail Regional Manager until 2007. From 2007 to 2009, they worked at Bank of America as Vice President, Client Manager, and Business Lender. In 2009, they joined Consumers Credit Union as Chief Lending Officer, where they are currently employed. Additionally, Owens served as a Board Member at Van Buren County United Way from 2005 to 2011.

Steve Owens began their education in 1990 at Western Michigan University, where they studied Business Administration, Finance, and Economics. Steve completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in 1994. Afterward, they pursued further education and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the same institution between 2001 and 2006, focusing on Business Administration, Finance, and Management.

In 2018 and 2019, Steve attended two different programs at renowned institutions. Steve completed the CUES CEO Institute I: Strategic Planning at The Wharton School in 2018, further enhancing their knowledge in Business Administration and Management. Additionally, in 2019, they attended Cornell University for the CUES CEO Institute II: Organizational Effectiveness, further developing their expertise in the field.

Steve Owens's dedication to lifelong learning continues, as they plan to attend the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 2022, where they intend to earn the CUES CCE certification, concentrating on Business Administration and Management once again.
