Gregory M. Salisbury is vice president of gas engineering for Consumers Energy. He was named to this position in 2018.
Salisbury is responsible for engineering and planning of the company’s natural gas transmission and distribution systems, and for natural gas supply. He leads development and execution of plans to maintain, upgrade and expand the natural gas delivery systems that provide safe, reliable, affordable and sustainable natural gas service to customers.
He also oversees natural gas pipeline integrity, natural gas metering and regulation, natural gas transmission, compression and storage, and natural gas control.
With nearly 30 years of operations and quality assurance experience, Salisbury joined Consumers Energy as vice president of operations performance, and was responsible for implementing The Consumers Energy Way, lean principles, metrics analysis and reporting, in-process standard verification and work management improvement.
Before joining Consumers Energy, he held several quality assurance and operations positions with global medical device manufacturer Stryker Corporation. Salisbury had most recently served as Stryker’s vice president, global supplier quality, where he led more than 200 quality managers and engineers across 39 manufacturing sites and was responsible for quality performance among Stryker’s more than 4,500 supplier partners.
Prior to his career at Stryker, Salisbury’s previous roles include general manager at Fresh Solution Farms, L.L.C., and several plant operations and quality positions within General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant.
Salisbury earned a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering from GMI Engineering and Management Institute, and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan as a GM Fellow. Salisbury also is recognized by the American Society for Quality as a certified quality engineer.
