Research Engineer at Contactile

Andrew Belford has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Andrew is currently working as a Research Engineer at Contactile since May 2023. Prior to this, Andrew held the position of Adjunct Fellow at Macquarie University (School of Engineering) starting in September 2018. Andrew had also worked as a Lecturer at Macquarie University from February 2019 to December 2019.

Before their academic roles, Andrew was self-employed as a Contract Electrical & Electronic Engineer from January 2018 to February 2019. Andrew also worked with Fulcrum3D as a Contract Electrical & Electronic Engineer from April 2017 to November 2017.

One of Andrew's significant career experiences was with Rocla Pipeline Products, where they served as an Electrical & Controls Engineer from February 2002 to December 2016. Andrew was responsible for managing SCADA, automation, and manufacturing equipment across multiple factories. During this period, they also played a crucial role in various productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety projects.

Earlier in their career, Andrew worked as the Principal of AFU Pty Ltd from December 1996 to February 2002. Andrew also worked as an Electrical Engineer (contract) at Voltrek Construction Group (later Siemens Contracting) from February 1992 to 1996.

Additionally, Andrew gained valuable experience as an Automation & Control Engineer at Automation and Process Control Services from May 1987 to November 1991. Andrew started their career as an Electrical Engineer at Delta Electronics from January 1986 to June 1987, where they focused on hardware and software design for generation equipment controllers.

Throughout their work experience, Andrew has shown expertise in electrical engineering, automation, control systems, and project management.

Andrew Belford completed their Matriculation degree at Prince Alfred College in 1980. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the University of Adelaide from 1981 to 1984. Andrew obtained additional certifications, including becoming a Fellow (FIEAust) of Engineers Australia in January 2020 and being registered on the National Engineering Register in October 2015.
