Tony Bronkema has a diverse professional background that includes significant experience in both sales and management roles. Currently a salesperson at Conte's Bike Shop since March 2023, Tony previously served as the service manager at the same establishment. Prior to this, Tony worked at Checkered Flag Auto Group from July 2018 to April 2023, where responsibilities included sales and consulting for luxury automotive brands such as Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, and Audi. Earlier in the career, Tony held several positions at Morehead City Police between 1997 and 2008, culminating as a sales manager following an extensive tenure as a police sergeant. The career journey began with a role as a police officer at the Honolulu Police Department from February 1993 to February 1998, and also includes military service in the United States Marine Corps as an advanced electronics technician specializing in meteorological equipment. Tony graduated from Rantoul Township High School.

THE STORY OF CONTE’S BIKE SHOP Conte's Bike Shop has a rich history, and we're proud to be dedicated to serving and improving the many local communities where we now reside. Early Years Charles R. Conte, Sr. opened the first of the Conte’s family-owned bicycle stores in Newport News, Virginia in 1957. Conte, the son of Italian immigrants, was a hard-working machinist at a nearby shipyard when he opened his small, neighborhood bicycle and repair shop. He ran the shop based on his love of bicycles and his vision of providing personal service, and top-quality products that he could personally guarantee. Conte’s became famous for providing customers with a one-of-a-kind buying experience that made its customers not only repeat customers but customers for life. Expansion Years By 2002, the corporate headquarters was moved to Virginia Beach. Thereafter, David Conte acquired all of the ownership interests in the company. In 2014, David Conte and Wayne Souza joined forces to launch the Conte Bicycle Group. Headquartered in Virginia, the group now has stores in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Williamsburg, Newport News, Falls Church, Richmond, Arlington and Alexandria (all in Virginia), Navy Yard, Logan Circle, and Cathedral Heights (in Washington, D.C.), and Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Boynton Beach (all in Florida). The Conte Bicycle Group also distributes under its private label - “1957 Brand” ™. Continuing Success Conte's Bike Shop is proud to have been selected as a 10-time winner of the coveted “Top 100 Best Bicycle Retailers” in the country designation awarded by the National Bicycle Dealers Association.
