Slade started their career in the United States Navy as a Radioman/Information Systems Technician. During their six-plus years in the Navy, they gained experience in satellite and radio wave communications and their security.
After leaving the Navy, Slade worked as a Teacher at a Public Vocational/Technical Center for two years before transitioning to the role of a Security Analyst at a Public University.
