Slade Griffin

Slade Griffin has a diverse work experience in the field of security. Slade has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

Slade started their career in the United States Navy as a Radioman/Information Systems Technician. During their six-plus years in the Navy, they gained experience in satellite and radio wave communications and their security.

After leaving the Navy, Slade worked as a Teacher at a Public Vocational/Technical Center for two years before transitioning to the role of a Security Analyst at a Public University. At the university, they performed incident handling, forensic analysis, and computer crime investigations. Slade also assisted in the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines for the university's information security program.

Following their time at the university, Slade worked as a Security Engineer at a Private Security Consulting Corp. Here, they performed vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, data retrieval, and forensic analysis for a variety of customers in different industries.

Slade then moved on to a Fortune 5 company where they worked as an Information Security Specialist. In this role, they conducted vulnerability assessments, configuration reviews, and policy development.

After that, Slade joined a company where their work experience is withheld. Slade served as a Security Analyst and was responsible for researching, testing, and implementing a web-proxy solution. Slade also upgraded vulnerability scanning infrastructure and forensic analysis systems.

Slade later worked at SANS as a Mentor, where they provided guidance on Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking.

Slade then joined EnerNex, where they held two roles. Slade first served as a Senior Consultant - Security Engineer, focusing on smart grid specific vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Later, they became the Director of Energy Systems Security, leading the utility industry cyber/physical security business practice and managing a team of cyber security professionals.

In 2011, Slade started their own company, Cyphoss Security, as the owner.

Their most recent position was as the Director of Security Assessments at Contextual Security, LLC. Slade was responsible for leading the Security Assessments business practice and assisting clients in building sustainable information security management programs.
