Austin Chen

Austin Chen is currently the Head of Chemistry at Pipeline Therapeutics, where Austin has been since November 2018. Prior to that, Austin worked as a Scientist at Inception Sciences from February 2011 to October 2018. Before joining Inception Sciences, Austin was a Research Fellow at Merck from March 2004 to December 2010. Austin is well-educated, holding a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of New Brunswick and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Chemistry from Harvard University. Austin also earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Queen's University. During their time at Merck, Austin focused on designing and synthesizing novel renin inhibitors for hypertension treatment from 2004 to 2009, and from 2010, Austin shifted their focus to designing compounds for hepatitis C treatment.
