Youngmok Yun

Youngmok Yun is an accomplished entrepreneur and engineer with extensive experience in robotics and mechanical engineering. As the CEO and Founder of Contoro Robotics since February 2022, Youngmok has demonstrated leadership in innovative technology. Previously, as a Board Member, CTO, and CEO at Harmonic Bionics, Inc., from December 2016 to June 2025, Youngmok played a pivotal role in commercializing a leading upper-limb rehabilitation robot, which was acquired by Bioness Medical. Additional contributions include co-founding H ROBOTICS INC and working as a researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, where Youngmok developed a lower-limb rehabilitation robot and machine learning algorithms for gait prediction. Earlier career experience includes serving as a System Design and Validation Engineer at Renault Samsung Motors. Youngmok holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and has earned both an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology. Initial education was completed at Gyeonggi Science High School for the Gifted.
