Ken Mainardis

As Senior Vice President, Content, Ken Mainardis oversees all of Getty Images content divisions across its editorial and creative spectrum. The quality, depth and breadth of Getty Images’ entire portfolio of over 200 million pieces of content falls under his executive leadership, as does coverage of over 160,000 annual editorial events.

From sport, entertainment, news, and archival product lines, to managing the company’s leading creative division, Ken has responsibility for maintaining Getty Images’ position as the world’s market leader in the production and licensing of photography, video, custom content solutions and associated services.

Ken joined Getty Images in 2004 as Managing Editor, EMEA and a year later became Director of Editorial Photography with a focus on major editorial events. In April 2010, Ken took on the new role of Senior Director, Editorial Services and Events with a global brief responsible for editorial event operations and services. In February 2013 he was appointed Vice President, Sports Imagery and Operations, before being promoted to Senior Vice President of Editorial in 2017. In 2018, Ken also assumed executive responsibility for the company’s creative division.

Ken began his career in 1995 as an assignments editor for the Reuters News Agency in their London bureau, before taking on the role of Global Sports Editor for Reuters Pictures in 2000.

Ken is also a board member of the News Media Coalition, a not‑for‑profit trade organization protecting the news media’s access to events of public interest.
