Joseph Lawlor

Joseph Lawlor, AICP, is a Senior Planner at Contra Costa County since October 2016, where responsibilities include managing a comprehensive zoning code update and overseeing professional planning duties such as data collection and public engagement. Prior to this role, Joseph served as a Teaching Assistant at UCLA, providing critical feedback on journalistic ethics and gender communication courses, and worked as a Field Researcher for the Institute of Transportation Studies. Joseph also held the position of UCLA Chapter President for the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, where coordination of various committee efforts occurred. Joseph's earlier experiences include a Bergman Fellowship at SaciWATERs, and multiple roles at Camp Jack Hazard, culminating in the position of Site Director. Joseph holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA, a dual degree in Communication and Community and Regional Development from UC Davis, and an Associate's degree in Communication Studies from Cabrillo College.
