Gajus Kuizinas

Co-Founder & CTO at Contra

Gajus Kuizinas is the Co-Founder and CTO of Contra. Gajus has a background in software architecture and has worked with MailOnline and Applaudience. Gajus has been with Contra for 2 years and 2 months.

Gajus Kuizinas started their career as a software architect. Gajus worked with MailOnline and identified speed issues with the advertising platform that were affecting the revenue. Gajus built a proof-of-concept platform that improved ad loading time from an avg. (90th percentile) 6 seconds to under 3 seconds. Gajus also implemented lazy loading of images which decreased page size and saved bandwidth.

In their role as software architect, Gajus also integrated the existing blogging platform with Google Live Blogs. This enabled http://www.dailymail.co.uk/ to provide feed about live events (e.g. sport events) directly in Google search results. Gajus also wrote a new live blogging platform that solved the existing stability and scalability issues.

After 8 months in their role as software architect, Gajus moved on to founding Applaudience, a data aggregation startup. Gajus developed technology to aggregate, normalize and mine data on a large scale. Gajus raised venture capital, formed an advisory board and developed relationships with major exhibitors, studios and distributors. Gajus also negotiated and signed data-licensing contracts in North America and EMEA.

At Applaudience, Gajus hired the technology team and senior industry executives. Applaudience aggregates cinema data across Europe and North America. They analyse transactional and customer data and discover opportunities to change audience behaviour.

After 4 years and 7 months at Applaudience, Gajus moved on to their current role as Co-Founder and CTO of Contra.

Gajus Kuizinas attended Royal Holloway, University of London from 2010 to 2011, where they studied Economics, Politics and IR.
