Zainab AlQaffas is an experienced research and compliance professional with a strong background in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Currently serving as Regional Research Manager at Control Risks since August 2019, Zainab oversees the lifecycle of research projects and ensures the delivery of high-quality reports while managing research, compliance, and editorial processes. Prior roles at Control Risks include Research Supervisor and Senior Researcher, where Zainab led client projects and managed MENA researchers. Zainab co-founded Sijal, an open platform for archiving influential Khaleeji voices, and has previous experience as an AML Compliance Analyst at PwC and a Research Analyst at Thomson Reuters. Zainab holds a Master’s Degree in Middle East Politics from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Leeds.
