Human Resources Business Partner at Controlled Contamination Services

Sonya Riojas has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Sonya began their career at Arco Oil & Gas Company as a Flight Scheduling Coordinator for Arco Aviation from 1991 to 1993. Sonya then worked at Dresser Industries as a Flight Scheduling Coordinator for Dresser Air Transport from 1994 to 1996. In 1999, they joined A. H. Belo Corporation, initially as an HR Representative responsible for recruiting and interviewing job applicants. During their time at A. H. Belo Corporation, they also served as an HR Representative/Executive Assistant in the Investor Relations/Public Relations department, as well as in Strategic Sourcing. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at Dolco Packaging as a Corporate HR Generalist, focusing on recruitment, training, benefit administration, and implementing people-related services. Sonya then joined Mocha Bakery in 2011, where they held the role of HR Generalist/HRIS/Recruiting/Assistant to Executive Chef. Their responsibilities at Mocha Bakery included human resources functions, sales, marketing, promotions, administration, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, buyer, strategic planning, financial analysis and planning, compensation, business planning and projections, software management, decorating cakes, and creating artwork for cake design. Sonya also developed internal policies and procedures, managed vendor sourcing and relations, and was responsible for hiring and training employees. In 2018, they transitioned to Builders FirstSource as an HR Generalist (Region 6) until 2021. At Venture Metals, from 2021 to 2022, they served as a Senior Human Resources Generalist. Currently, they are a Human Resources Business Partner at Controlled Contamination Services, starting in 2022. Throughout their career, Sonya Riojas has accumulated extensive experience in various aspects of human resources, administration, management support, and strategic planning.

Sonya Riojas attended Mansfield Business School from 1987 to 1989 and graduated with a degree in Business and Executive Assistant. Sonya then attended The University of Texas at Arlington from 1990 to 1991, where they studied English Language and Literature. From 2006 to 2010, they attended Dallas College and pursued a field of study in Business.
