COL (Ret) Matthew Morris has extensive work experience in various leadership positions within the military and energy sectors.

Beginning in 2010, Morris served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the 10th Mountain Infantry Division, where they assisted the Division Chief of Staff in coordinating and synchronizing the division staff's efforts. From 2011 to 2013, they commanded the 548th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, overseeing tactical transportation, field maintenance, supply support, and other logistics activities for the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum units. During this time, they also commanded Task Force Sword, a multifunctional battalion providing sustainment and retrograde operations in Afghanistan.

In 2014, Morris assumed the role of Deputy Brigade Commander for the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, responsible for training soldiers and formations for early entry deployment and unified land operations. COL (Ret) Matthew later became the Brigade Commander, leading a diverse team and ensuring mission readiness in complex environments.

Morris's next assignment was as Chief Observer, Coach, and Trainer for Operations Group - Sierra, US Army Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) from 2016 to 2019. In this role, they observed, coached, and trained sustainment brigades and commands, providing constructive feedback to commanders to enhance mission command and execution.

In 2019, Morris joined USSOCOM as Division Chief of Strategic Logistics, where they led and guided teams in accomplishing complex projects and programs through coordinated problem-solving strategies with various military and governmental entities.

Most recently, Morris served as Chief Operating Officer for Convalt Energy, overseeing all operations as directed by the CEO. This included responsibilities such as construction, solar projects, logistics, supply chain management, and military liaison.

Throughout their career, Morris has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic planning skills, ensuring mission success and taking care of soldiers and their families.

COL (Ret) Matthew Morris completed their undergraduate education from 1986 to 1990 at Furman University. COL (Ret) Matthew obtained a degree in Political Science, with a focus on Political Science and Government. Later, they attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, although specific dates and details regarding a degree or field of study were not provided.
