Rachel Pytel

Rachel Pytel is a highly experienced professional in materials science and engineering, currently serving as the Technical Fellow and Director of Materials Engineering at Convatec since December 2020. Prior to this role, Rachel held positions including R&D Manager at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, where leadership was provided for developing new materials solutions for biopharmaceutical manufacturing and therapy markets. Additional experience includes serving as R&D group leader at Saint-Gobain, developing materials and systems for diverse product lines, and leading R&D for abrasive products at Saint-Gobain Abrasives. Rachel began an academic career as a Technical Instructor at MIT and has a strong educational background with a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
