John C. Ames

John C. Ames has extensive experience in church leadership and missions, currently serving as the Regional Impact Team Leader for Converge Worldwide in Sub-Saharan Africa since September 2017, focusing on developing leaders to engage unreached populations. Previously, John served as the Lead Pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church Norfolk for 15 years and as an Adjunct Professor at Bethel Seminary of the East, where instruction covered topics such as Missions and Church Growth. John also held the position of Director of Missions for Converge Northeast and worked as a missionary with Converge Worldwide for over 15 years. John earned a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
