Michael Gilliam

Michael Gilliam has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Michael is currently working as a Business Intelligence Developer at Converge Technology Solutions Corp., starting in June 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Architect at VSS from April 2013 to July 2023.

From May 2005 to April 2013, Michael worked at Solutions Advantage as a Project Manager. In this role, they provided project management, requirements gathering, system design, and production support for multiple applications at AARP. Michael worked on systems built on Staffware Workflow with Gauss as the DMS and an Oracle database.

Before that, from August 2003 to May 2005, they worked as a Software Developer at Third Day Solutions. Here, they contributed to the development of a system to track expenses and payment of expert witnesses for the Tennessee court system using VB.NET and Oracle 8 database.

In May 2003, for a short period, Michael worked as a Software Developer at Central Access Corporation. During this time, they worked on building XML student reports using ASP.NET and VB.NET.

From May 2001 to May 2003, they worked as a Software Developer at AT&T, where they were part of a team responsible for the full life cycle development of the website portal www.myattws.com, offering online services to customers.

Additionally, Michael served as an Adjunct Visual Basic Instructor at Hinds Community College from September 2000 to May 2003. In this role, they developed and taught lessons for Visual Basic 6.0, evaluated student performance, and encouraged the growth of programming skills.

Lastly, from August 1998 to March 2001, they worked as a Software Developer at Vention. Here, they created a shopping cart using Visual Basic 6.0, ASP, ADO, ODBC, JavaScript, SQL, and COM for a forestry supplies website called www.forestry-suppliers.com.

Michael Gilliam completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Belhaven University from 1996 to 1999. Prior to that, they attended Hinds Community College from 1989 to 1991 and studied in the pre-medical field. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in VCP-DCV from VMware in March 2014.
