Mahdi Goudarzi

Data Scientist II at Convergent Genomics

Mahdi Goudarzi has worked in the field of data science since 2015. From 2015 to 2019, they were a Graduate Teaching Associate (Data Scientist) at the University of South Florida, where they used logistic regression to detect real-time changes in eye status using multivariate empirical mode decomposition (MEMD), fast Fourier transform (FFT) to EEG (brain) signals, and Bayesian data analysis and stochastic processes to detect changes in brain signals. In 2019, they were a Data Scientist II and then a Data Scientist at Convergent Genomics. Mahdi also worked as a Health Data Scientist at Insight Data Science, where they developed a screening tool to identify people at risk of prediabetes using Random Forest and AdaBoost.

Mahdi Goudarzi obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Iran University of Science and Technology from 2001 to 2004. Mahdi then went on to get their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mathematics from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic from 2005 to 2007. From 2014 to 2015, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Mathematics from Clarkson University. Lastly, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics from the University of South Florida from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, Mahdi Goudarzi has obtained certifications in Machine Learning: Classification, Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach, Python Data Structures, and Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) from Coursera between 2016 and 2017.
