Nipun Mehta has a wealth of experience in the field of cyber security. Nipun began their career in 2009 as a Technical Services Officer for the Scottish Police Services Authority, where they completed site audits and configured and installed new network infrastructure. In 2010, they moved to HBOS/LBG as a Test Analyst, writing and reviewing manual test scripts and executing test scripts. Nipun then took on the role of Administrator for the same company in 2011. In 2012, they moved to ConocoPhillips as a Network Engineer. In 2013, they joined BT as a Lead Consultant - Cyber Security (Incident Response), Senior Security Specialist, and Network Security Specialist. In 2019, they joined NatWest Group as a Lead SDN & Cloud Security Architect and Platform Security Manager - Engineering & Architecture. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Convergent Risks as CTO & CISO and Vice President, Head of Cloud & Application Security.
Nipun Mehta has a diverse educational background. Nipun completed a HND in Computing: Technical Support - Networking from Edinburgh College between 2006 and 2009. Nipun then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours in Computer Network Management and Design from Robert Gordon University between 2011 and 2013. Most recently, they obtained an MSc in Cyber Security from The Open University between 2018 and 2020. In addition to their formal education, Nipun Mehta has obtained a number of certifications, including Check Point CCSA Certified - R77.30 from Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd. in 2016, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2017, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate from Microsoft in 2022, CCDA Certified from Cisco in 2014, CCNA Certified from Cisco in 2012, CCNA Security Certified from Cisco in 2012, Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certified from Microsoft in 2020, Cisco Certified Network Associate Cyber Ops (CCNA) from Cisco in 2017, and Azure Fundamentals Certified from Microsoft in 2020.
