Erik Tylczak has a solid background in engineering, with a focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and analysis of supersonic flows. Erik worked for Convergent Science as a Principal Engineer, starting in August 2016. Prior to that, they were a Senior Engineer at GoHypersonic Inc from November 2011 to April 2014, where they developed a CFD grid generation software and provided assistance to the team. Erik also gained experience as a Summer Researcher at Air Force Research Laboratory in 2010, conducting CFD analysis of thermal protection system panels. As an Engineering Intern at Northrop Grumman in 2007, they performed finite element analysis of solid rocket motor insulation. Before that, they had a role as an Engineering Intern at Honeywell Aerospace from May 2006 to May 2007.
Erik Tylczak completed their Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at Arizona State University from 2003 to 2007. Erik then pursued a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota from 2007 to 2010. Erik continued their education at the University of Minnesota and successfully earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from 2010 to 2016.
