Mingyi Liang

Senior Research Engineer

Mingyi Liang has a diverse work experience, starting as a Summer Intern at Sichuan Victory Machinery Manufacturing Co., LTD in 2013. They then worked as a Teacher Assistant for New Channel International Education Consultancy, where they educated students on English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. In 2016, Mingyi became a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center of Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS), where they used computational fluid dynamics to design and improve steel-making projects. They continued this role until 2017 when they joined the Colorado School of Mines as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on 3-dimensional simulations and improving mass and momentum balance in gas-liquid flow. Mingyi also had a research and development doctoral internship at SSAB in 2021 and is currently working as a Research Engineer at Convergent Science.

Mingyi Liang completed a Bachelor's Degree in Thermal Energy and Power Engineering from Sichuan University from 2011 to 2015. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2017, Liang attended Purdue University Northwest, where they obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, Liang is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines, starting from 2017 and is expected to finish in 2022.
