Mrugank Bhatt

Senior Research Engineer at Convergent Science

Mrugank Bhatt has extensive experience in the field of computational fluid dynamics.

Mrugank began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where they focused on studying liquid-slip effects in capillary filling using MATLAB.

Following this, they worked as a Summer Intern at École Polytechnique, where they developed computational models to study blood flow in the human placenta.

Mrugank then joined the University of Minnesota as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, instructing senior undergraduate students and providing teaching and feedback.

Mrugank continued their work at the University of Minnesota as a Graduate Research Assistant, advancing the capabilities of the Large Eddy Simulation to study hydrodynamic cavitation.

Currently, Mrugank is working at Convergent Science as a Senior Research Engineer, where they lead collaborative efforts on film boiling models and implements transport equation-based cavitation and boiling models.

Throughout their career, Mrugank has collaborated with interdisciplinary researchers from top universities worldwide and has contributed to various bug fixes and enhancements in software development.

Mrugank Bhatt completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering, from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, from 2010 to 2014. Mrugank then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, with a minor in Mathematics, from the University of Minnesota, from 2014 to 2017. Mrugank furthered their education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota, from 2014 to 2020.
