Derek Sobol

Derek Sobol is a civil engineer with significant experience in field engineering and geotechnical investigations. Currently serving as a Staff Engineer at Converse Consultants since July 2023, Sobol previously held the same title at Western Technologies from October 2020 to July 2023, where responsibilities included writing field reports and performing various geotechnical assessments. Prior experience includes roles as an Engineer In Training at Civilwise Services and Western Technologies, focusing on subsurface exploration and soil testing, as well as an internship at Alpha Structural, Inc., assisting with foundation repair projects and permitting. Early career experience includes a summer internship at Mee Industries Inc. in inventory management and control. Sobol holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
